Dr Tim Johnson

Research Lead and Principal Investigator-retired

Recently retired, Dr Johnson was involved for over 25 years as a Sub-Investigator, Principal Investigator. Until OCT 2024 he was the Research Lead at Heart of Bath Medical Partnership, when the team, during which time the team won multiple research awards.

Dr Patrick Eavis

Principal Investigator and GP Champion – retired

With over 25 years experience of commercial and academic clinical trials in all major treatment areas, Dr Eavis established the research team’s good reputation at Heart of Bath. Dr Eavis has recently stepped down as the GP Champion for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

Dr Helen Bigby

Principal Investigator (PI) /Sub-Investigator(Sub-I) – current

Dr Bigby is involved in all aspects of academic and commercial trials running at Heart of Bath.

Dr Kate Rees

Dr Rees is involved in all aspects of academic and commercial trials running at Heart of Bath.

Paul Madden, Physician Associate

Paul is involved in all aspects of academic trials running at Heart of Bath.

Mary Anne Fifield

Lead Research Nurse

Mary has extensive research experience in secondary and primary care. She is primarily responsible for study participant recruitment. She regularly co-facilitates a National Institution for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Enhanced Communication skills workshop, has a link practitioner role between the NIHR and other GP practices in the region.

Nabina Gurung

Clinical Trials Coordinator

Nabina has research experience in both secondary and primary care. She is primarily responsible for all administration aspects of the research portfolio.
